Pastor

I’m Pastor Doug Mellott at the Runville United Methodist Charge.  My wife’s name is Jenn and I have four children, Kolyn, Adazia, Shaun, and Bryleigh.  My family and I are no strangers at spreading God’s love throughout the world; we have been active in part-time mission work for over 5 years now and enjoy sharing God’s love with everyone we meet.  We have been to Costa Rica, Russia, Indian Nations and many other states throughout our great country to give support and aid to all of God’s children.
I have been in many professions throughout my life such as iron mill labor, steel labor, and law enforcement.  But before I started any of these careers I began with service to my country in the United States Army Reserves.  We are blessed to live in a country with the freedoms that we have and it was an honor for me to serve in the military and support our great nation.
As I move on in my walk with Christ I want you to know that each career I have been associated with has strengthened my call to the full-time ministry.  As Christians we only need to stop sometimes and see God’s hand at work to understand his call for our own lives.  God sent me from my first career in life, the military to the present career, the ministry.  As God prepared me for the ministry through many occupations he would end up making his call to me in a small town in Costa Rica called Los Chiles.  It was there that God faced me head-on with my call, as I looked around at people who had nothing, but yet had everything because they had Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Missions are a big part of my life and something that I bring to the Runville United Methodist Charge, because once God touches your heart there is no turning back.
I finished Local Pastor School in March of 2008 and while I am serving as a full-time minister at the Runville Charge, I am also attending Penn State University to further my education and work towards ordination.  What a road it has been, but it is a road that I never regret taking, because I took it for the Lord.  I want to welcome all of you to the Runville United Methodist Charge and I encourage you to look at all the churches of our charge and pray as you pick one that best fits your life.  All three churches have many blessings to offer you and your family, and I pray that you will enjoy your time with us at the Runville Charge.

                                                 Your Brother in Christ,
                                                           Pastor Doug Mellott
